Luke was born and raised in Oakdale, California.  He has been married to his wife Michelle for 10 years after meeting her in Peoria, IL.  They have three children Grace Elizabeth-7, Jack Anthony-4, and Joseph John 1.  Luke graduated from Stanford University with an economics degree in 1997, played three years of minor league baseball in the St. Louis Cardinals farm system, and came to the New York Life in 2000 to begin his career as an agent in the Stockton GO in California.  After qualifying for Executive Council three times, Luke transitioned into his role as partner in 2003 and Managing Partner in 2009.

“I love the fact that from the start, my career path at the New York Life has been in my control.  I started as an agent and loved the impact that I could have on the families I worked with.  As a partner, I get to have that opportunity for impact everyday with the agents I work with.”

In addition to helping people, Luke believes that keys to success at the New York Life are a passion for winning, being coachable, and the ability to adapt rapidly.

“You have to have a passion to continually get better.  A coach of mine at Stanford used to say that a player was either getting better or getting worse, but no one ever stays the same.  This career is a definite reflection of that.  The sooner an agent can adapt, address their weaknesses, and attack them the quicker their business will grow.  Getting out of your comfort zone is the first step to any meaningful growth.  Most of the time it is a function of being able to separate what you may like best, from what is best for you.”
